Strings culture magazine appears and rests upon in numerous culture places, business, restaurants and public institutions in the region east Switzerland purposefully since April 1994 monthly as an east Swiss. It was initiated originally from the surrounding field of the musician combination "Pop ME Gallus" dissolved in the meantime. Chief impulse for launching was the culture reporting lacking in the local and regional media. Since 1999 the association has responsibility strings as a publisher.

Meeting calendar as heart

An important component of the magazine is a meeting calendar. This presents month for month comprehensively and clearly the culture and leisure offer in whole east Switzerland. The need after an alive presentation of urban and regional life affected the edition. Today them amount to 7 ' 000, 3000 copies in the subscription are sent away.

Title topics

The "culture term" with strings is defined very far and openly and is not limited not to music, theatre, film and art, but is enough into all areas of life. This is reflected in the title topics, which coin/shape the magazine and it to its character help, like interculture, dialect, football, accomodation life, traffic or new women's movement.

Culture magazine of east Switzerland

Strings is the only culture magazine of its kind in east Switzerland. As an independent product with high journalistic and formative quality the magazine created itself a name far beyond east Switzerland. Reports, interviews and from culture and society open the view for the multiplicity at worlds, which take place in the small one. Central thought is old and young it, borders between city and country, world and "province", to open "more and "more alternatively" culture.

Understands itself strings besides as service to the population (meeting calendar) and as forum, cultural and social developments in the region and reflects and represents thus an addition of regional daily papers reflects.
