Stefano Bontade (* 23 April 1939 in Palermo, "† 23 April 1981 in Palermo) was a powerful Sicilian Mafioso. It is assumed that it was located to Salvatore Lima and that in connection with several powerful politicians, among them Italian Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti.

Bontade was in-born into a Mafia family. Both its father and its grandfather were influential Mafiosi. When its father died 1964, Bontade became with 25 years of the leaders of the "Santa Maria di family. During the 1970er years stood Bontade in connection with Gaetano Badalamenti and the Mafia Boss Luciano Leggio, in order to surely place the peace between the Mafia families.

On 23 April 1981 Bontade shot during it in its armored car by Palermo drove. It is assumed that the notice of Pino Greco, an order murderer in the service of Salvatore Riina, which successor Leggios was accomplished. Bontade was first from a set of victims under the Mafiosi of this time. Many members of its family, its friends and its allied ones were killed in the following time. Probably in order to prevent it to take revenge from its murderers. One of Bontades friends was Tommaso Buscetta, which became later an informant of the Italian police.
