Spellbound Entertainment is a German computer game developer with seat in Kehl on the Rhine. The company was created 1994 of Armin Gessert.

History

After Armin Gessert had worked already at Rainbow kind and Blue byte, he created 1994 together with Jean-Marc Haessig his own Entwicklungsstudio. The team consists particularly of developers from Germany and France.

At first the Studio diagrams for the third part of the Nordlandtrilogie of Attic supplied, before it received the order to develop a real time strategy play to the German Fantasyromanserie Perry Rhodan.

1998 appeared the first own play airline Tycoon (RK), a restaurant simulation, which was characterised by high complexity and at the same time good accesibility. The Comicstil, in which the play was converted, maintained with all following plays, although partly in weakened form. Airline Tycoon received with RK roofridge Class, RK evolution and RK Deluxe in the subsequent years several ADD ons and/or to new editions. On the successor airline Tycoon 2 one works at present.

The play Desperados constituted the first large hit, which of many Spielemagazinen and players as durchdachter and more stimmiger than the past category Primus Commandos was regarded. However disputes with Publisher Infogrames over free extensions clouded, "Webisodes in such a way specified "(of "Web "and "Episodes "), success, since they were however never published announced.

The quasi-successors Robin Hood and Chicago 1930 could not tie by partial radical changes at the play principle (stress on act ion elements) and the disappointment over "Webisodes "to this success. Whereby however, at least with Robin Hood, innovative ideas were welcomed.

The Desperados successor Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge on 26 April 2006 appeared, ties the elements of Desperados 1 and by many Spielemagazinen was high-praised and is a full success.

During this time a kind moorland chicken clone developed also as "play for occasionally "smoking Colts.
