Spee is a detergent mark of handle. The name stands for special development.

Originally it concerns thereby East German a mark, which was produced and driven out in the GDR since the year 1968 by the VEB detergent work Genthin, in order to replace a detergent with the name Persil, driven out in the GDR. The work was created 1921 of handle as manufacturing plant for wash and cleaning agents and expropriated 1945 of the Soviet military authorities. 1949 the location into a state-owned enterprise with took VEB Persil work Genthin converted. After the reunification the handles KGaA acquired the work of the trust establishment in November 1990 back.

In this year Spee in a revised phosphate-free prescription came also in the old Lands of the Federal Republic on the market. Spee Color appeared likewise 1990 on the market. As advertising medium a fox was created, which arises internationally also for other detergents of handle. 1996 was taken up the Megaperls to the program, 1999 of Tabs and 2000 a gel.
