SoZ - socialist newspaper is a political monthly newspaper of left-socialist adjustment appearing in Cologne. It originally appeared as party organ of the 1986 to a created united socialist party (VSP), which was converted later 1993 into the combination for socialist policy and into the association for solidary perspectives (VsP). The VsP is further those formal the SoZ basic institution. Many of its members belong, under the developing history of the VSP, at the same time the fourth international one. The SoZ maintains a "trotzkistische" tradition from therefore to certain extent, does not understand themselves however not as direction organ of a certain current, but turns as pluralistische platform for background reports and discussions - with clear tendency for the support of the WASG and left wing party - to a broad public from trade unions and social movements. The pluralistische character is limited only by the fact that foreign reports are usually referred by members of the friendly sections the fourth international one and therefore their view to usually represent on one side.

The 2002 carried out conversion of two-weekly to monthly appearance the emphasis of current reporting more strongly on background analysis shifted. Additionally three times the magazine appears socialist booklets with international theory contributions in the year as supplement. Also here a predominance of discussion contexts the fourth international one is to be observed.
