Smirnoff is a famous Wodka Brennerei, which 1860 in Moscow were created by Petr Arsenjewitsch Smirnow (at that time still as Smirnow).
Smirnoff was world-wide the first Brennerei, which used charcoal for filtering. Vladimir Smirnow took over 1910 the company after the death of its father Pjotr Smirnow. During the October Revolution the Brennerei was konfisziert and the family had to flee after Konstantinopel. Four years later pulled it after Lemberg. From Smirnow the French sounding name became Smirnoff. This Wodka was so successful that 1925 a second Brennerei in Paris were opened. End of the 1930er years it was exported into most European countries.
1934 sold Vladimir Smirnow the company at Rudolph Kunett, which shifted the company into the USA. Meanwhile Smirnoff belongs to dia.-geo and ranks among world-wide at most sold Wodkas.
Beside pure Wodka, which was three-way distilled and which there is in different alcohol concentrations, Smirnoff drives out also the successful mix beverage (Smirnoff Ice), which is mixed with Lemon. In addition there many further Smirnoff products is, to like-to to example the aromatized Wodkasorten with vanilla, raspberry, orange, bilberry, the Green apple and lemon. For this still Smirnoff Mule (beer) and many other beverages comes.
Noblest and most expensive which Smirnoff has to offer is Smirnoff Penka. This has an alcohol content of 40% and in a 0,7l bottle is sold. In 19. Century was reserved a middle section of a distillation for Zaren and Smirnoff were created this experience again for the Penka Wodka. This is examined by Meisterdestillatueren. And only the softest and purest part, the best cut of the Wodkas, is thus filled up as Smirnoff Penka. The price is with approx. 60" per bottle.
