Sigrid Kressmann Zschach (27. July 1929 in Leipzig; "Â 28 October 1990 in Berlin) was a German Architektin and Bauunternehmerin. In Berlin it established the Ku'Damm and the Steglitzer gyroscope.
It was born as a daughter of the Leipziger of building master Friedrich Zschach, studied in Leipzig architecture and locked an exam as an engeneering graduate. Into the 1950er years pulled it to West Berlin.
After its marriage ceremony with the Kreuzberger district mayor Willy Kressmann (SPD) 1960 became it part of the citizens of Berlin society and always ordered as one first over information to building projects of the citizens of Berlin federal state government. Two years later the divorce took place. In the coming years it with approximately 300 coworkers to the most successful Bauunternehmerin of the city and was respected also by its political opponents. It referred a mansion at the resounding lake, a Penthouse in beautiful mountain, drove Rolls-Royces and carried mini skirt. 1972 turned out for Kressmann Zschachs builder company Avalon GmbH & CO. Kg because of rising construction costses and missing tenants for the gyroscope into financial difficulties. 1973 were insolvent it and had to announce in April 1974 bankruptcy. The citizens of Berlin federal state government was responsible for an endorsement over 42 million DM. Also the Ku'Damm did not count itself. The citizen of Berlin senate acquired it briefly after his completion 1974 for 22,7 million DM. Thereupon the Lower House of Berlin inserted a committee of inquiry to the entangling of the building and financial administration into the gyroscope affair. This tightened a "negligent injury of the obligation" on sides of the building senator Rolf Schwedler (SPD). Further the boss of the regional finance office Berlin Klaus Arlt, which helped Kressmann Zschach vocationally and was close to it also privately, was suspended by the office.
Kressmann Zschach was married in first marriage from 1960 to 1962 with the district mayor von Berlin-Kreuzberg Willy Kressmann, in second marriage with the artist and buyer Angelo D. Losito and had a daughter from first marriage, Corina. As a member of building house archives, the friends of the national gallery, the culture area as well as the association of the friends and promoter of the Berlin museum, it donated German industry large parts of their fortune for non-profit purposes.
It received an honour grave on the forest cemetery Zehlendorf, in the local part Berlin Nikolassee.
