ShareNet is a knowledge management system the Siemens Communication (Com). It was sketched to at the beginning of of 1999.

The experience of individual projects and tested customer solution models are revealed transparency; it is aligned to know-how of the coworkers. Personal opinions, comments, practice reports on selling projects or test results are collected here, structured and secured. Members belong to so-called Communities OF Practice, which define user groups of different interest. The largest Community in ShareNet counts over 17.000 members

Structure

Knowledge objects

Knowledge objects over put on structures information about customers to put competitors or projects down. Each object is described by a number of questions. Knowledge objects can be linked among themselves. Around regaining from information to objects will facilitate arranged in categories, for which can be searched later.

Staggered array feedback

The members can deliver a feedback to the suggested procedures.

Urgent Requests

All members can place Urgent Requests (urgent inquiries), which is then solved from other members in the whole world.

Communication

Communication is made by 60 panels, Nachrichtenticker and questionnaires.

Premium systems

Apart from the intrinsischen values for an exchange, offers still material incentives to Sharenet for the change. These are mainly education (participation in conferences and seminars, technical literature, language courses)

Hierarchy

A national address has at least a ShareNet manager, it has the task one multiplicator over it stands for that global editor. It is responsible primary partner and co-ordinator for the local ShareNet manager and for the evaluation process of the quality of published contents.

Technology

ShareNet became of ArsDigita Germany GmbH on basis of ArsDigita Community system (ACS) and/or OpenACS developed.
