The self-safety device is the self protection of persons before dangers for body or life.

The term is used in danger-bent occupations or activities, among other things:

Navigation

With rough sea the crew and the passengers must protect themselves against the over on-board going, v.a. by belt table-ware (Lifebelt).

Assistance in the water

Rescue floats must be able themselves to solve from clasping from ertrinkungspanischen floats.

Fire-brigade

Here independent securing is meant in the crash-endangered range at the fire-brigade. In the safety against falling and elevator rescue the protection must often secure itself, while its troop man of it becomes secured.

Military

In the engagements fight the self-safety device by the delivery by shots from firearms or passes with bayonets is delivered.

Police

Criminal ones or disturbers attack every now and then police officers physically or with weapons. Therefore a self-protection is important, in order to be able to react to it effectively. For this the officials are particularly trained (employment behavior). The relevant regulations and/or recommendations are regulated in the police regulation No. 450 (self protection of the police) and/or in the manual No. 371.
