Scene school was a school newspaper, which appeared from 1990 to 1993 in Leipzig.

The establishment of the sheet was initiated by the Leipziger city pupil advice, that financed also the first number, published in July 1990. Therefore the monthly magazine contacted from the outset to the pupil shank of completely Leipzig and not only, as usual with school newspapers usually, the pupils of a school. The edition amounted to 1,000 to 2,000 copies.

The Redaktionskollegium made itself immediately independent of the city pupil advice and was starting from September 1990 even publishers of scene school. The sheet was financed primarily by advertisement, because the selling price amounted to only 50 Pfennig and sank later even on 20 Pfennig for each 24-32 sides comprehensive expenditure in the format A5.

Scene school was a typical product of the Wendezeit, in which many noticed the again won democratic liberties with enthusiasm, so in the concrete case also the pupils. School newspapers had been not permitted before in the GDR - like all independent products of press -. This was also the reason, why the editorship wanted to commit itself to all organizational structures not at a syndicate or an association and distrusted. Evenly therefore the Leipziger had been contentwise also more political sheet, than this is generally with school newspapers the case. Education and local government policy took a broad area and now and then also democracy-theoretical contributions were published. Otherwise there were Kurzgeschichten, poems, Comics, caricatures and numerous travel reports. (Also the freedom to travel belonged to the achievements of the peaceful revolution.)
