Samuel (SAM) Eyde (* 29 October 1866 in Arendal, Norway, "† 21 June 1940) was a Norwegian engineer and Industrieller.

Eyde completed its study in Germany and put 1891 down its exam as a civil engineer into Berlin. Between 1891 and 1895 he was concerned in Hamburg, Dortmund and Luebeck with the planning of new railroad lines and bridge constructions. it makes and led themselves 1897 independent with the help of Swedish capital from now on different companies in Sweden and Norway. In the year 1905 it created the company Norsk hydraulic, which first in Notodden Salpeter and together with the Norwegian physicist Kristian Birkeland, after whom also magnesium and aluminum produced the Second World War as well as 1964 with the promotion of the oil on the Norwegian continental base began. In the westNorwegian Tyssedal Eyde let build 1909 an iron and a steel plant, further industrial projects carried out it along the Norwegian coast. The technical university in Darmstadt lent Eyde 1911. Between 1918 and 1920 he was a delegate of the Norwegian Storting. 1920 to 1923 he was an Ambassador of its country in Poland.

One year before its death completed Eyde its autobiography with the title memo live og memo livsverk (my life and my life's work), Oslo 1939 (2. Aufl. 1956).
