Dr.med. Salomon Herxheimer (* 1841; "† 12 August 1899) originated from a child-rich family, which brought several physicians out. He spent a part of his training with Ferdinand of Hebra in Vienna, the there founder of the Dermatologie.

He married Fanny Livingstone (before times lion stone), whose parents emigrated once to America, came there to large wealth and let themselves into Frankfurt/Main on the reason of the today's German bank center the splendourful palace lion stone be established. 1874 established itself Dr. Salomon Herxheimer in Frankfurt/Main as a skin physician and created 1876 a hospital for striking and sex diseases. He deceased on 12 August 1899 in a mountain accident. Its wife Fanny created Herxheimer donation to its memory "the medical advice Dr. Salomon "with a donation capital from 100.000 RM to the free treatment of needy skin patients. Also its nut/mother Frances (Franziska) Livingston considered this donation with 20.000 RM in their will. His brother Karl Herxheimer, later also famous dermatologist, took over the hospital line and caused later their integration into the university clinic along-created by him.

His son, Professor Dr. Gotthold Herxheimer (1872-1936), became a famous pathologist and was 30 years long director of the pathological-anatomical institute at the urban hospital in Wiesbaden, before he was forced 1934 to the emigration.
