The safeguarding of traffic nature is a field in the traffic engineering for the guarantee of security in the traffic, thus endangerment and accident-free traffic flow (see transporting enterprise technology). In addition special instruments and/or mechanisms serve (e.g. Plants and/or regulations, supervisory authorities, signaling, laws and regulations) and methods (e.g. Risk analysis and weak point evaluation), which can be arranged different depending upon requirements of the underlying traffic systems. In particular are to be differentiated

• Road traffic safety (see contribution road safety),
• Railway safeguard nature (see contributions in the category strain-relief),
• Navigation security,
• Aviation security and
• Communications security.

Tasks

• Protection from dangers for security and ease of traffic (working reliability, see transporting enterprise technology)
• Preventing the dangers outgoing from the traffic and harmful environmental effects
• Accident prevention (see traffic accident).
