The Saab 105 is a jet-powered shoulder-wing monoplane of the Swedish manufacturer Saab. Characteristic are the pilot seats next to one another and the T-Leitwerk. It developed on basis of a civilian corporate aircraft. Apart from its main use as trainer aircraft it was used also as combat and reconnaissance plane.

Sweden ordered 1962 150 machines. The first flight of the first prototype took place on 29 June 1963. The Swedish Air Force received 1966 and 1969 their 150 machines, which were called Sk 60 between. The machines were equipped with a license version of the 742 kp thrust supplying Aubisque engine, the RM-9. 46 machines received external load stations for 30mm cannon container or unguided rockets. These machines received the designation Sk 60B. A clearing-up variant with fitting space for cameras in the nose got the designation Sk 60C. The basic version was designated later than Sk 60A.

Further variants were the Sk 60D, a connecting and a training variant with 4 seats and the Sk 60E, likewise with 4 seats however a non-military avionics. With all variants it is to be exchanged possible the two military ejection seats for four conventional seats.

Between 1988 and 1991 all 142 still Sk present at the Swedish Air Force in the employment received 60 structural reinforcement and changes at the ejection seats by the use improved parachute to make possible. Starting from 1995 105 machines Williams FJ 44-1C (RM-15) received engines and new instruments. The type names remained the same. These in such a way reequipped machines are only used for training purposes and as liaison aircraft. They are to remain until 2015 in the service. Machines of this type are used by the Swedish aerobatics relay team 60.

The export version Saab 105XT starting from 1970 at Austria were delivered and called Saab 105OE there. At the end of of 2004 was still located the type in both countries in the employment.

The Austrian federal army possessed 40 Saab 105 OE, with 1 November 2005 is at present still still 29 pieces in to be employment-used the Saab 105 with the 3. Relay/flier regiment 3 and 8 Stk. as "loan" at the monitoring squadron/flier regiment 2.

Application type are the training (major task) and air traffic control. Further employments are VIP of transportation in 4sitzer-Versionen, today only a subordinated role in the federal army play the employment than fighter-bombers and reconnaissance plane.

The armament consists of automatic cannons (in mg Pods) and unguided rockets of different caliber beyond that can be equipped the 105 OE also with clearing-up and air sample containers.
