The order of rod mushrooms contains some very well-known representatives, from whom some by their intensive carrion smell are noticeable. Not few representatives of this order were counted in former times to the belly mushrooms (Gastromycetes). This Taxon is today no longer valid however, since modern research methods make another allocation, which is more strongly to the Phylogenie of the mushrooms oriented necessary.
