Rune Elmqvist (* 1906; "Â 1996) were a Swedish physician. It developed 1958 the first implantierbaren cardiac pacemaker under the direction of Senning. It was active as upper physician and a heart surgeon at the Karolinska university clinic in Solna.
Elmqvist worked at first as a physician and learned in Lund, later became it an engineer and inventor. 1940 he became a development boss with Elema a company the late Siemens Elema became. The cardiac pacemaker department of Siemens Elema was sold to 1994 to the US firm Pacesetter, which it then at pc. Jew Medical resold.
1931 developed Elmqvist the first electrocardiogram printer, 1957 he got an honour doctor title.
