The rules for the prevention of accidents (UVV) represent the obligations obligatory on each entrepreneur and insured one concerning security and health protection on the job.

After the social legislation VII "§ 15 is the professional associations carriers of the legal accident insurance and issues rules for the prevention of accidents (BGV, in former times UVV) and by the Federal Ministry for economics and work is approved. After "§ 17 SBG VII they have to supervise the task the enterprises and the entrepreneurs and insured to advise.

'' from the entrepreneur to investigations according to industrial medicine and other measures according to industrial medicine forwards, during and after performing of work, which can be arranged, which is connected to Versicherte for or for third with work-conditioned dangers for lives and health,
4. '' Conditions, which the physician, who investigations or measures is assigned after number 3, has to fulfill, if the medical examination is not intended by a national legislation,
5. '' the Sicherstellung of an effective first assistance by the entrepreneur,
6. '' the measures, which the entrepreneur has to meet for the fulfilment of the obligations resulting from the law over company doctors, safety engineers and other specialists for industrial safety,
7. '' the number of the safety representatives, who are to be ordered after "§ 22 under consideration of the work-conditioned dangers existing in the enterprises for lives and health of the insured ones and the number of the persons employed.

In the rule for the prevention of accidents after sentence 1 No. 3 it can be determined that preventive medical examinations according to industrial medicine can be arranged also by the accident insurance carrier.
