Rudolf Schindler (* 10 September 1888 in Vienna; "† 1968) were an austro American surgeon. It is called "father of the Gastroskopie ".

It justified its international reputation by first illustrated text book of the Gastroskopie. Together with the citizen of Berlin technical designer George Wolg it developed 1928 to 1932 the first semiflexible Gastroskop, which remained for the next quarter century the only insignificantly changed standard. It emigrierte 1934 to Chicago and became one of the prominent personalities of the American Gastroenterologie. 1962 it returned to Munich.
