Rudolf of Sebottendorf, alias Erwin Torre, actually Adam Alfred Rudolf Glauer (* 9 November 1875 in Hoyerswerda, "† 8. /9. May 1945 in Istanbul) was adventurer, Hochstapler and founder of the Thule society. In the surrounding field of the Germanic, anti-Semitic secret federations of the 1910er and 1920er years was Sebottendorf of one the Wegbereiter of the later national socialism.

Its personal record is occupied not safe and relies primarily on its own, quite contradictory data. So it was from 1897 to 1900 as a technician in Egypt on the way. From 1901 to 1914 it was in Turkey. There it was adopted allegedly by baron Heinrich von Sebottendorf. Under the guidance of a Jewish buyer named Termudi it ascended to the master of the rose cruisers. Beyond that it was occupied with the Sufismus and the Theosophie teachings of Helena Blavatsky, as well as their ariosophischen folder and the Theozoologie of the Lanz of love rock. It acquired the Turkish nationality and led during the Balkans wars of 1912 and 1913 the Turkish red Halbmond. At the latest 1917 it returned with large funds, whose origin remains unclear, to Germany. It joined the Teuton medal and received the order to develop a Bavarian folder of the medal. These creates it 1918 with the radically anti-Semitic Thule society in Munich. Among the members ranked several persons, who later played a more important role also in the NSDAP and/or in their apron. So for example Dietrich kind of hitting a corner, Gottfried feather/spring, Rudolf Hess and Alfred rose mountain. Hitler stepped 1920 with the Thule society into contact. Whether it became a regular member, is doubtful. It was however present to several lectures as a guest of the Thule society in the hotel four seasons.

In July 1918 Sebottendorf transferred the newspaper "resident of Munich observer" from the Franz rather successor of publishing house GmbH and makes themselves editor-in-chief. It used the boulevard sheet, in order to address a juvenile public purposefully with its propaganda. Already in August 1918 the sheet was renamed in observer".

When in November 1918 the residents of Munich soviet republic was proclaimed, the Thule society counted approximately 250 members. Sebottendorf created a "combat federation" from this circle, which procured weapons and from that the free corps upper country followed, which was involved with striking down the residents of Munich soviet republic and the Ruhr rebellion 1923 among other things.

The murderer of the Bavarian Prime Minister Kurt Eisner was briefly before the Anton count von Arco on Valley, excluded because of its Jewish nut/mother from the Thule society.

Over Sebottendorfs personal record in the years from 1919 to 1933 is not well-known anything details. Allegedly it already fled 1919 from Munich into Turkey.

Sebottendorf published 1933 its book "before Hitler came", which was however forbidden. 1934 it left Germany, in order to establish itself again in Turkey. 1942 to 1945 he is to have worked in Istanbul both for the German defense and the British secret service. After the German surrender its corpse in the Bospurus was found direct. The cause of death was proceeds unclearly, officially one from suicide.
