Roofridge Encounters is the successor of the successful plays Frontier and elite. The play was developed by Frontier development under the direction of David Braben and published 1995 by GameTek for the PC.

Roofridge Encounters took over the proven play principle of its predecessors. The player takes over the role of a spaceship captain and can the play universe freely investigate. One operates as a head money hunter, paid killer, dealers alternatively or takes over themselves courier flights for spy rings.

The title contained however with appearance still numerous heavy errors and could neither fans nor critics convince. Only months after appearance of the play was GameTek in a the position to offer a to a large extent errorsettled version. But were sold despite all problems altogether over 100.000 copies.

The version at that time of the play can be downloaded mittlerweise on the side elite of the club as Shareware.
