The rollers Irle GmbH is in Netphen, North Rhine-Westphalia of resident roller manufacturer. The tradition enterprise can look back on one over firm history and was the first enterprise in Germany, which manufactured chill casting rollers. Today rollers Irle belong to the Irle group and are a hundred percent daughter of the Irle Deuz GmbH.

Establishment

The family Irle comes from remote village, from the today still existing Irlenhof, a former farm, which re-clamps from Erlen was. The Irles living in remote village had already been partial hut people. The Johannes Irle went from Dahlbruch to Kaan Marienborn and justified there the treatment of iron like also the beer production. The iron goods manufacturers and - dealers offered their customers accommodation and food supply. They brewed its beer.

The origins of the company rollers Irle GmbH lie thus in Kaan Marienborn, where the ancestors of the Deuzer possessed above all founders of day works at the Marienborner hut and made room furnaces beside further articles of cast irons for the daily use. In the Marienborner hut 1820 were manufactured by the Irles the first chill casting roller of Germany, which through-lived a triumphant advance in all kinds of rolling mills by its abrasion resistance. It took however still some years, before this new kind of roller interspersed itself. The orders for the room furnaces increased, and soon the capacity of the Marienborner hut and also water power that were not sufficient white for risen production. For this reason Jacob and Carl Irle, grandchild acquired the silver and fallow-lying in Deuz of Hermann Irle, on 24 January 1848. There the furnaces poured in Marienborn should become overturned and polished and/or polished with sufficiently existing water power.

But after few years the transportation already proved as too complex. Therefore the owners already shifted 1851 the foundry after Deuz. The abort of the old buildings took place 1854. In the same year at that time a foundry with 2 cupola furnaces, modern for conditions, developed. Jacob and Carl Irle created a new company, which they called to the memory to their grandfather "Hermann Irle ".

Since the business went further well, the enterprise experienced a further generous development. Modern machines were purchased, and 1875 were already set up a steam engine with 75 HP, because the water the victory was not sufficient any longer, in order to produce the energy for production.

1876 died the joint founder Carl Irle, and in the following year Rudolf, the son of Jacob Irle, into the enterprise occurred. Rudolf Irle got engaged 1882, and to the memory to this day the first Wetterfahne in Deuz on the neck mountain was set up, which was renewed 1988. 1888 occurred Albert Irle, a son of Carl Irle, after completing the engineering school Wuppertal the enterprise.

In the course of the years the production of furnaces constantly decreased/went back, the roller production became more and more the main production of the enterprise. In the year 1891 the last furnace was finally poured. These typical cylindrical room furnaces were to be found in almost each winner countries house. Borders were set to the size of the rollers, since the railway connection after Weidenau not existed yet and the finished rollers had to be brought on ox carts after Weidenau.

But the development could not be stopped. For the solution of the energy problems the owners bought the old shut down valley downward at the village end of Deuz and furnished there by installation of a turbine a Kraftstation. Thus the oil and carbide gas lighting of the work could be changed over to electrical arc lamps, for the machines gave it sufficiently to river. Starting from 1906 the enterprise supplied with this Kraftstation also the municipality Deuz as one of the first municipalities of the winner country road lighting had. Also to the households river was delivered.

In the years 1906/1907 the old work was completely transformed and extended. An office building was established, in which this very day the head office is accommodated. This house served first in the lowest floor as Comptoir, thus as office. The second floor inhabited the casting master at that time small. In the Dreherei stood 22 turning lathes, 2 milling machines and a grinding machine.

1908 were converted the enterprise into a GmbH. One year later occurred Philipp Fischer, a son-in-law of Rudolf Irle, into the company. He took over the commercial line.

In the meantime also the Kleinbahn Weidenau Deuz with their connections had reached the work. 1911 converted the enterprise the old meal mill to a further foundry with following treatment. That for so-called chill casting work Deuz, today work II. the place developed with the origin work was quite there restrained - the victory was alone twice shifted -, offered itself the sufficient place at the village end for the extension. In particular it was Willibald Raym, a further son-in-law of Rudolf Irle, which operated the new building with good ideas and untiring inventor spirit and actually created thereby the universality of the roll-manufacturing enterprise. Willibald Raym established a completely new foundry for small chill casting and wearing parts, which were worked on on eight rolling deer banks and a further milling machine. Above all reduction roles, small rollers and chill casting parts, were manufactured which in the Formerei much place stressed and had to be submitted of a special treatment. The old mill had to finally yield the new buildings and 1915 was torn off.
