Rodolphe Lindt (* 1855 in Berne, "† 1909 in Berne) was founder of the Chocolademanufaktur Lindt as well as inventors of the Conchiermaschine and other procedures for the improvement of the chocolate quality.

The pharmacist son created his chocolate factory 1879 in the mat accomodation to the Aare below Bernese Still in the December of the same yearly the improvement of at that time still very moderate chocolate quality succeeded to it by the development of the Conchiermaschine, a longitudinal agitator at the refinement of the consistency and evaporation of unwanted flavours. Also it gave as first cocoa butter to the chocolate mass. These two innovations contributed substantially to the high quality of Swiss chocolate.

1899 sold its factory and the "secret" of the Conchierens to Lindt to the Chocolat AG, which firmiert since then under the name Lindt & AG. For the trademark laws and the Lindt prescriptions had 1,5 million gold Franconia to pay.

Lindt led "Bernese the branch" from Lindt & still until 1905, four years before its death.
