The Robinsonlisten is black one lists with contact contacts of persons, who do not want to receive unwanted advertisement. There are these lists for letter post, E-Mail, SMS, telephone and fax. The enterprises organized in the federations commit themselves to come the desire of the registered consumers for for advertising liberty and to contact them in no form commercially. The entry into the Robinsonlisten is free in principle.

The name "Robinsonliste" is selected in the resemblance to the history of the novel figure of the Robinson Crusoe, which spent many years lonely on a remote island, without contact to the external world.

The Robinsonlisten will maintain both from consumer protection associations and from federations of the advertising economy.

Criticism

The use of Robinsonlisten is disputed for several reasons:

  1. Not all advertising senders are member of the above mentioned institutions or adhere bound, in particular not to the freiwillige obligation such, which Spam Mails, advertising SMS and - faxes spread or those their company headquarters abroad have.
  2. If the Robinsonliste - e.g. by an error or an indiscretion - should become public, the effect the desired goal would be directly opposite and the listed addresses were inundated purposefully with UCE.

Another possibility, than the namentliche barrier is from individual consumers however in principle not possible, as long as direct advertising is not generally politically limited. A such general advertising prohibition is socially however not conceivable.
