The secret Kommerzienrat Robert (* 12 October 1849; "† 30 October 1927), son and successor of the "coal doctor" Friedrich William was director/conductor of the Harpener mining industry AG in Dortmund.

1874 became board of directors member with the Harpener mining industry AG. 1893 it became exclusive executive committee of the enterprise, 1914 changed it into the supervisory board, whose presidency it had up to its death.

was involved in the establishment of the Rheinisch coal syndicate and held numerous supervisory board mandates, so among other things with RWE and with the Bochumer association.
