Robert Francis Furchgott (* 4. June 1916 in Charleston, South Carolina) be a American scientist.

For its work over the role of nitrogen monoxide as messenger material in the heart circulation system Furchgott received 1998 with of Louis J. Ignarro and Ferid Murad the Nobelpreis for medicine.
