Robert Christian Barthold Lallemant (* 25. July 1812 in Luebeck; "† 10 October 1884 ebenda) was a German physician and explorer.

Family background

Lallemant was the son of the music paedagogue Jacob Heinrich Lallemant and its wife Maria Friederike Canier. The Kriminalist Friedrich Christian Lallemant and the music critic and music writer Theodor Lallemant were its brothers.

Life and working

Equal its brother it went in its hometown to the school and through its father was in music informed. Lallemant began to study medicine in Berlin and changed later to Heidelberg. After one foreign term in Paris it terminated successfully its study with a graduation in Kiel.

1836 let enlist ersich to Brazil and in the darauffolgenem year established themselves it as a practical physician in Rio de Janeiro. Not only with the study of Brazil Lallemant had made itself a name; the Brazilian health service was enormously lifted by it.

At the age of 72 years Dr. Robert Christian Lallemant died on 10 October 1884 in Luebeck.
