Israel Robert John Aumann (* 8. June 1930 in Frankfurt/Main) be a mathematician German descent with Israeli and American nationality. 2005 it was distinguished with the Wirtschaftsnobelpreis.

Life

Robert Aumann was born in Frankfurt/Main as a son of the Moses Aumann. The 1854 in Friedrichsdorf (Taunus) born Moses Aumann created the textile company Aumann and Rapp in Frankfurt/Main with relatives. After expropriation by the Nazi regime 1938 the Jewish-orthodox family fled 1938 to New York. There it studied mathematics and locked 1950 with a Bachelor OF Science in Mathematics at town center the college OF New York. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology it graduated to 1952 the master OF Science and 1955 over the bases of the knot theory to the Ph.D was attained a doctorate. It was following in Princeton and is occupied with operation Research models, its interest applied however for the game theory.

1956 moved Aumann to Israel. Robert Aumann teaches at the Hebrew university of Jerusalem. It researches there at 1991 created interdisciplinary mathematical Institut center for Rationality as well as economists, mathematicians, psychologists, biologists, the medical profession and philosophers.

In October 2005 the Swedish royal academy of the sciences Aumann and Thomas's C communicated. Scientific contributions
