Richard Kandt (* 17 December 1867 in floats; "† 26 April 1918 in Nuremberg), originally Kantorowicz, was a German physician and Africa researcher.
Richart Kandt was active as psychiatrists in Bayreuth and Munich. Between 1897 and 1907 he investigated the northwest of German East Africa and became 1908 resident of the Gouvernements Rwanda, where he created Kigali. Kandt is in Rwanda this very day a highly respected person. In its house in Kigali a natural history museum is furnished.
