Dr. Ing. e. h. Reinhold Heidecke (* 2 January 1881 in ashtray life (resin); "† 26 February 1960 in Braunschweig) was one of the two joint founders of the camera manufacturer Rollei.

Beginnings

Rheinhold Heidecke was one of the two sons of the mountain man Ernst Freiderich Heidecke and his Mrs. Elisabeth Johanna. He would have become gladly a professor of the eye medicine, which financial conditions did not permit to its family however. Thus it left 1895 the school and began teachings as a mechanic with the resounding ashes manometer and Telegrafen Bauanstalt C. Berger. To 10 January 1900, thus after the Weihnachtsferien he could optical institute be employed with & son, to Braunschweig as mechanics. To the military service at the navy (starting from 20 February 1904) it returned on 10 September 1905 as a production manager to On 7 April 1906 he married Wilhelmine Biethan, which already shortly thereafter, i.e. brought on 16 June Reinhold Ernst Friedrich and on 14 January 1908 Lotte Anne Johanna to the world.

With

Reinhold Heidecke was an excellent technical designer, who could of him developed apparatuses also manufacture. With he suggested every now and then in such a manner many new developments that the other coworkers felt troubled of it. Above all it could not succeed with its plans for a new roll film camera, whereupon it tried to create its own enterprise. However the necessary starting capital failed it for it to receive: When it inquired 1918 with its bank, it wrote it, it it would give many inquiries at present in such a manner that one would receive ""Â… two technical designers for a Mark"Â… ". The caution of the bank was extremely justified thereby, roll egg history showed finally that it would not have had any success alone for lack of commercial fate. Thus Heidecke, briefly before Christmas the photo buyer Paul Franke, considered a former coworker asking for the establishment of a common enterprise when this was in the work to attendance, rejected this plan however again. On urge of its wife it invited into with a far attendance in February 1919 to itself home and the two decided, a trading licence to request. Thus it came with effect to 1 February 1920 to the entry of the company Franke & Heidecke.

Rollei

With Rollei the two partners Franke and Heidecke delivered an excellent team, Heideckes outstanding ability to design cameras thereby with the feeling Frankes for the photo market were combined. When the British military occupied the enterprise, Franke cooperated immediately with it, while Heidecke showed up rejecting. The responsible Mr. Harris had to remind it only of the fact that anybody were not deportiert and the production plants were not dismantled. To the parting Heidecke asked for some English and American photo magazines, in order to inform about the current conditions of the camera technology. When soldiers delivered a large crate shortly thereafter, it looked immediately after their contents and loaded it thereupon to the meal in. Mr. It wrote a thank letter immediately to Harris and attached a Rolleiflex. In the crate were numerous magazines and a Rolleiflex reproduction, which the American distributing house Sears sold, after it got no more original cameras.

To death Frankes was lost the equilibrium between Franke and Heidecke, so that Heideckes constructions no more did not orient themselves at the needs of the market and it already introduced thereby the fall of the enterprise.
