The regulation for lifts (12. GPSGV) converts the European guideline 95/16/EG (elevator guideline) in Germany into national right. It regulates the Inverkehrbringen of new elevators. A condition for the Inverkehrbringen is that the assembly enterprise

• the elevator with the CE-marking provides,
• conformity explanation issues,
• the fundamental safety requirements kept.

This regulation bases on "§ 3 of the equipment and product safety law (GPSG).
