Referendariat (junior lawyer time) is the name for most periods of instruction in the context of the careers of the officials of the higher service in Germany.

All junior lawyers an official on revocation were original. Meanwhile this does not apply to the Rechtsreferendariat in nearly all German Lands of the Federal Republic any longer. They converted the service relationship into a so-called "public training relationship" with smaller purchases and without award of the official status. Only Saxonia and Thuringia still adjust right junior lawyers as officials to revocation.
