R&S record is one 1984 created Belgian disk label, which ranks with numerous publications from the range of the electronic music among the most important Plattenlabeln of the late and 90's 80's.

History

The name in Gent of the resident label is derived from the initials of the founders, the musician Renaat Vandepapeliere and its life companion Sabine Maes. The label was created first as Milos Music Belgium. Under this name however only a single of the artist appeared Big Tony. Vandepapeliere wanted to originally call the label Ferrari record, but its Partnerin convinced him of the name R&S. of the Italian noble automark took over one however the Logo, a rearing up horse.

As the first single under the Imprint R&S Big Tonys Coverversion Barry White classical author "of the Can't GET Enough (OF Your Love) appeared ".

Starting from the year 1988 R&S published then a set of Singles, by which some today among the classical authors of the new Beat and the Techno are ranked.

Largest Charthit was Jaydees plastic dreams, from which R&S could set than 500,000 units off in the following years more. In this time and promoted the label founder Renaat Vandepapeliere discovered further numerous recent talents such as CJ Bolland, Moby, Joey Beltram or Aphex twin, which ranks today among the most successful artists of the Techno scene.
