Definition

The quality report gives a systematic overview of the quality management of a hospital. This overview enumerates achievements after kind, number and qualification of a hospital. The quality report arranges itself to give to the interested public with the goal for these an information and a decision making aid in the apron to a hospital treatment. The obligation of the hospitals your report to publish guarantees more transparency for patients and health insurance companies.

According to law each hospital must every two years the so-called structured quality report after "§137 SGB V provide and publish. This legal default comes into force for the first time to 31 August 2005 and applies thereby retroactively for the year 2004. The hospitals is reserved to raise and publish own reports at any time. Also each hospital has the right to make more than the data demanded by the legislator.
