The power station is a German hard coal power station. It lies with in the district Unna.Es has an output of 500 megawatts. At the location was established for the first time 1938 a power station. The power station produces traction current since 1984 also. Since at the end of of 2003 is produced in the power station also long-distance heating. Annual hard coal consumption amounts to approx. 1 million Tonnen.Der operator of the power station is the Steag.
