Prysmian Cables and of system is an enterprise, which concerns itself with the production of energy and telecommunications cables. On 28 July 2005 the Italian cable and tire manufacturers Pirelli sold its cable activities with an enterprise value of "€ 1.3 billion at Prysmian Cables and of system, to a financial investor, in whom Goldman Sachs is considerably involved.

Among other things optical waveguide cables as well as cables to the products, which are resistant to high temperatures, fires, ionizing radiation and chemical substances and are produced as ground cables, submarine cables and free overhead cables, belong.

Prysmian has its company seat in Milan and possesses world-wide 52 works in 21 countries, in which more than 12,000 coworkers are busy.
