Potentiometer (Georgian ) is a port in the region Samegrelo in Georgien. It has 47,149 inhabitants (census 2002) and is because of the black sea at the delta of the river Rioni in the kolchischen low country. Over the port manganese, corn, building timber and wine are implemented.

History

In the Argonautensage was the city the goal Jasons and the Argonauten on the search for the golden fleece.

In late 7. and early 6. Century v. Chr. the city was a Greek colony and carried the name Phasis. Archaeologists found a part of the settlement at that time under the water surface of the lake Paliostomi in close proximity to potentiometers. Potentiometer a Turkish fortress became later. In the year 2002 4 million tons goods were turned over. In the first quarter 2004 the goods throughput rose by 42 per cent in relation to the same period of the previous year. A new oil pipeline of the Kaspi sea is to lend further resource to potentiometers.

The Georgian coast guard has its constant basis in potentiometers. It was established for 17.5 billion US Dollar of the USA.

Potentiometer (Puoti) is member of the international combination of cities and ports, also the (France), Bari (Italy), Rijeka (Croatia) and belong to (Netherlands Antilleses). It is twin city of lying rank, Georgia.
