The cure prince Maximilian IIITH Joseph promoted the establishment of Manufakturen after its accession 1745, in order to reorganize thereby the finances of the state. Particularly was board service with copies of famous paintings or with Bavarian landscapes likes in the antikisierenden style. 1822 were appointed Friedrich of gardner as artistic directors/conductors of the Manufaktur. Century worsened the economic situation of the Manufaktur appreciably, so that 1856 artistic production was stopped completely and one decided to denationalize the Manufaktur. 1862 were leased for the first time the Manufaktur. The emphasis shifted temporarily to the technical, medical and sanitary porcelain. 1887 leased Albert (1855-1929) the Manufaktur, and its goal was it to achieve just as high artistic level as in former times; was it also, the Bustelli "rediscovered". At the turn to 20. Century was reached and beside historical copies now elegant Jugendstilgeschirre was developed this goal. Since 1975 are leased the Manufaktur of the Bavarian state at the Wittelsbacher equalization fund.

In the lock Nymphenburg is also the porcelain museum (collection accommodated, guidance by the Manufaktur is possible after advance notification.
