The place newspaper for south bathing is a magazine, which is common in south bathing and central bathing and is read there in the left-alternative scene. It appears in irregular distances four times per year. The first expenditure appeared 1989. Herausgeberin of the place newspaper for south bathing is a honorary working editorship collective named "initiative for culture and cross-linking in south bathing". The magazine appearing in Renchen understands itself as language pipe of left initiatives and organizations. Emphasis of the reporting is politics and culture with regional focus.

The place newspaper for south bathing is developed for a free school from a "initiative plenum" in the "Schneckenhaus", in open castle. Members were political different and culturally active groups and initiatives from the ranges theatres, music, cinema, ecology, peace work, projects/enterprises with autonomy, refugee work, anti-fascism and from different groups of women. The goal should be of reaching more communication and co-ordination under the different groups to ensure an exchange of experience and information. The magazine should serve the plenum as language pipe. There were already some forerunners, like the "Et cetera", youth newspaper in the Kinzigtal (at the beginning of of 1973), "driving sand", newspaper for `s Kinzigtal (starting from 1979), "KVZ", people newspaper (starting from 1985), or the "Ortenauer Generalanzweifler", forum for politics and culture (starting from 1983). The editorship separated already briefly after your establishment of the initiative plenum, which does not exist today any longer, and publishes the "place newspaper for south bathing" since that time within own responsibility.

The title was up to the expenditure 27 in the year 1996 "place newspaper for the Ortenau", since that time it is called "place newspaper for south bathing". This change of the title expresses the spatial purchase extended since center of the 1990er years - in such a way Freiburg became in mash gau meanwhile a remarkable local emphasis of the reports.
