Pierre Joseph Boch (* 26 October 1737; "† 12 November 1818) was partner and director/conductor of the exempt private company "Jean Boch et " in Audun le Tiche (Lorraine, France).

Family

Boch was the son of the iron caster and firm founder Boch (1700-1754).

He married 1806 the Luxemburgerin Antoinette Nothomb (* 20 February 1752; "† 9 October 1805), the daughter of the Jean Antoine Nothomb (1706-1760) and the Marie Antoinette Baclesse (1723-1768).

Life

Pierre Joseph Boch and its both brothers bought a piece country for the building of a new Steingutfabrik in the year 1757 in the still vacant valley of Septfontaines in Luxembourg and shifted 1766 the company headquarters of Audun le Tiche there, after 1765 the Austrian empress Maria Theresia the establishment of a Manufaktur in the habsburgischen province Luxembourg had finally approved for to early series production.

The enterprise flourished and could not be brought even by large destruction in the course of the French revolution in the year 1794 not to case. In the meantime Boch had taken over and built management alone now the enterprise with the help of its son Jean Francois.

Boch created 1812 in Septfontaines the "Antonius ", which offered progressive social security benefits, which went still beyond the social laws of Bismarck (70 years later to the workers). By this measure the reputation of the exempt private company also in the eyes of the workers (source grew: Villeroy & Boch ceramic works).
