Piatnik Vienna is one of the largest manufacturers of Spielkarten of all kinds world-wide.

History

1824 created Anton Moser in Vienna a map painting enterprise. After its death Ferdinand Piatnik 1842 took over the map workshop. When 1882 occurred the sons Ferdinands, Adolf and Rudolf, the enterprise, one called oneself from now on Ferd. Piatnik & sons.

Piatnik Vienna is meanwhile an established large-scale enterprise. About 25 million packs of cards (among other things Tarot, Bridge, Preference, liquor maps - doubleGerman and French), one million puzzle and one million board plays (Halma, lady, Roulette, chess, domino and recently also Millionenshow) in over 60 countries are sold. More than 200 society plays and 1000 pack of cards variants offers the enterprise.

Only end of the 1960er years was extended the assortment of the map factory by puzzles and board plays. 1990 came "Activity" on the market, a maintenance play for children and adults, which was translated into five languages and times was again presented to 15.

Today lead Ferdinand G.Piatnik (the 4.) and Dieter Strehl the business and the next generation stands already in training. World-wide the company has approximately 200 coworkers, of it about 150 in Vienna.

With Piatnik OF America was created 1989 the first subsidiary. You followed daughters in Germany, Tschechien and Hungary. World-wide the group 2003 obtained a conversion of approximately 26 million euro. The largest part, i.e. 17 million, of it at the home market Austria were gained. In Germany a two digit growth rate succeeded.
