PEZ is a drop mark, which was produced for the first time and sold 1927 as Pfefferminzbonbon by the physician Eduard Haas. According to the legend the name from the first, middle and last letter of the word "Pfefferminz" developed. 1950 were invented the PEZ box, a donor with expenditure for kneeling HP from plastic in the form of a lighter, and justified with this world-wide commercial success.

Starting from 1952 the boxes were in the USA and Japan a best seller. In order to increase attractiveness, on the Pez box the heads were put on by Disney figures. The different PEZ figures became meanwhile the collecting object.

Producer of the PEZ drops is still OD. Haas GesmbH with seat in Traun in upper Austria.
