Peter Wilhelm Josef de Gynetti (* 9 December 1735 in the cathedral Eifel) was a German physician.

Life

After the attendance of the Jesuitenschule in the cathedral Eifel it studied medicine, attained a doctorate and received 1772 at the University of Cologne a chair for Chirugie. It acquired itself soon a call as "expertissimus".

He strove intensively around a development and for a modernization of the medical study in Cologne. 1781 were appointed Gynetti "professor Primarius" of the faculty. it to the academy Bonn changed 1783 and there the secret advice was appointed and was at the same time as a body physician of the cure prince active.

Today the Gynettistrasse in the north of the city bath the cathedral Eifel reminds of it.
