By personnel operational planning (PEP) one understands the rational allocation of the different coworkers to the positions (suitably your ability profile and the requirement profile of the place) as well as the other one installation of free or freed capacities, the transport of qualified coworkers and restructuring of departments.

Task of personnel operational planning is the distribution of the present coworkers on the different jobs under consideration of the quantitative, temporal and local requirements of the enterprise and the interests and inclinations of the coworkers.

Of it to differentiate is the personnel arrangement, which is to manufacture short term (daily or hourly) reconciliation between being and actual personnel.

Problems of personnel operational planning are to be assigned optimization problems and thus to operations the Research. They can be concerned therefore also with the usual solution procedures operations of the Research. Many problems of personnel operational planning can be formulated special as linear optimization problems.
