Paul Hermann Mueller (* 12 January 1899 in Olten/Solothurn; "† 12 October 1965 in Basel) was a Swiss chemist.

Mueller worked after his graduation in the year 1925 for the J.R. Geigy AG in Basel. On the search for new insecticides it recognized the insect-killing effect of the DDT in the autumn 1939.

1948 received Mueller "for the discovery of the strong effect of DDT as contact poison against several Arthropoden to the Nobelpreis for medicine. It was the first time that a Nichtmediziner received the medical Nobelpreis.
