The enterprise Hermann owl in Bautzen was created on 26 January 1872 as organ building contractor and stepped thereby the follow-up long, since that 16. Century occupied tradition of building of organs in Bautzen on. Founder of the company was Hermann August owl, which from 1846 to 1929 lived. Since 1990 Armin Zuckerriedel (* 1942) leads the enterprise.

Today beside new buildings above all restorations of historical organs are accomplished.
