When one designates Outward processing trade (OPT) a specific kind of the production, with which an enterprise supplies and finished produce there lets semifinished produced Vorprodukte abroad. It RH-imports then the finished products, in order to drive it out on the domestic market. In this way labor intensive production steps can be shifted into countries, in which labor costs lie low, during development, marketing and other work procedures in the homeland of the enterprise remain.

In Germany refugee Konfektion for example is frequently produced on OPT basis in Eastern Europe or in Turkey, after the fibers or material were exported there.
