The gastronomer Otto scratch (* 25 October 1845 in Wilmersdorf (today to Berlin); "† 12 October 1902, even there) is considered as a founder of the legendary seaside resort Wilmersdorf.

Scratch was a son of a so-called Wilmersdorfer million-farmer, who came into the 1870er years to substantial wealth, as investor, speculator and the railway on a large scale country at the edge of the rapidly developing metropolis Berlin bought up. Scratch recognized as first the Potenzial of leisure and entertainment mechanisms, which were offered to the municipalities in the peripheral location of the city in the period of promoterism.

With a part of the million-ability it acquired 1879 a section of the former Wilmersdorfer of lake and built on the south bank a public swimming pool and the famous dance palace scratches. "Gehn we too scratch "became a winged one word of the pleasure-addicted citizens of Berlin.

On starting from 1915 filled up areas of the lake are today sports fields, which belong to the people park Wilmersdorf. Public swimming pool and dance palace were replaced to a large and housing estate ultramodern in their time of origin into the 1920er years by the scratching block, with one of the first underground parkings. The west side of the block of flats runs along the scratching race, which carries the name of the restaurant operator/barkeeper since 1885.

The burial place Otto Schramms is on the cemetery Wilmersdorf, is appropriate for which between the Fennsee and the citizen of Berlin road only few meters far away from Schramms former seaside resort.
