Professor Dr. med. Otto Roth (* 22 August 1863, "† 1944) was a German physician and scientist.

Life

Otto Roth was born as an oldest son of the later stolbergischen chamber and forest advice Karl William Ludwig (Louis) Roth and its wife Marianne Kunkel in the resin. After its graduation to the Dr. med. he became an assistant at the royal surgical hospital in Berlin. From 1897 to 1933 it was generally hospital of the Hanseatic city Luebeck actively and led here as a first specialized surgeon the surgical department.

Work

Together with Heinrich (1847-1917) and its son Alexander Bernhard (1870-1928) it developed that world-wide first anaesthesia equipment, the so-called Roth Narkoseapparat. This equipment demonstrated it 1902 for the first time publicly on the German congress for surgeons in Berlin, before the equipment attained general admittingness in the following year as Roth mixing arcose equipment.

By the society of the friends and promoter of the university to Luebeck registered association the professor Otto Rothprice for outstanding theses at the university Luebeck is assigned annually.
