Oswald Berkhan (* 19. March 1834 in bright castle (resin), "† 15 February 1917 in Braunschweig) was a physician. It engaged itself as an initiator that neworiel-desert institutes in Erkerode - a refuge for ill and handicapped humans - and also as Reformator of the special public education.

After Berkhan in Braunschweig a road and a school for mentally handicappeds were designated.
