Oskar Minkowski (* 13. January 1858 in Kowno/Litauen, "† 18. July 1931 in Wiesbaden) be a mean physician, brother the mathematician Hermann Minkowski and father the astrophysicist Rudolph Minkowski.

He taught as a professor at the University of Breslau. To the outstanding achievements Minkowskis belongs the discovery of the meaning of the pancreas (Pankreas) for the coal hydrate metabolism, with which fundamental progress in the diabetes therapy was made possible, as well as the discovery of the enlargement of the hypophysis as a cause of the Akromegalie.
